This week in kindergarten:
* We continue with our review in reading and math.
We are working on the Step Up to 1st grade math papers. We are completing one side at school and then the other side is to be completed at home. I told them it was homework, however, they do not need to return the paper to school.
* In science we are learning about plants: plant parts, uses, life cycle etc.
*We are out of snack items. If you would like to send in something to help us get through the next 8 days - we would love it. (crackers, animal crackers, cheerios, pretzels etc)
* This Friday we will have pajama day as a celebration for all of the Blue Paw awards we have received. Pajamas and slippers are welcome. Bring regular shoes for recess.
* Scholastic Book orders are due tonight. If you want to place one last order before summer - have that in this evening. I will place the order first thing in the morning.

* Next Tuesday, 5/20, we will have a "Read In." We will spend the day reading some of our favorite books, re-reading all of our big books, watching our favorite stories on-line etc. We will also spend some time outside (weather permitting) with our books from our book boxes. Your child may bring a beach towel to school (if they don't already have one in their locker) and sunglasses. They may also bring some of their favorite books from home. I will send a reminder next Monday about our Read In.
* I am looking for donations of grocery sized paper bags. I would like to have 22 - so that we can put all of our work from the year in these bags (which we will call Snuggle Bags) to bring home and go through after the last day. Let me know if you are able to help us out with these.
* The last homework sheet is coming home today. Next Monday I will be sending home a summer packet. This is something your child can work on each day to keep up with their skills they have learned throughout the year.
* I am also loading all of our pictures we have taken over the year on Photo Bucket. Once I have pictures from field day - I will post a link on the blog.
* Field Day is next Wednesday, 5/21. Important notes regarding field day:
- Please bring a lunch from home. The cafeteria will not be serving lunch that day.
- Send a water bottle with your student.
- They should wear tennis shoes.
- Make sure to apply sunscreen before coming to school.
