Weekly Update 2/17

This week in kindergarten:
*  It was so good to see everyone at parent / teacher conferences.  If you are interested in summer tutoring for your child - let me know and I can send home a list of teachers that tutor over the summer.
*  We will be learning about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
*  We will review common beginning and ending blends in words.
*  We will learn about the Chinese New Year on Thursday.
*  In math we will finish Topic 6 and work on identifying coins and their value.
*  There is no homework this week.  Please make sure to practice sight words every night and 20 minutes of reading as well!
*  You will find a permission slip in your child's folder for our field trip to Kaleidoscope.  We will be traveling to Kaleidoscope at Crown Center on Wednesday, 3/4.  You will have 2 forms to return to school by Friday, 2/27.  Please sign the permission slip and return the parent signature page.  Also, return the parent volunteer form.  Please check yes if you would like to volunteer on this field trip.  We are allowed to bring 4 helpers per class.  I will place all "yes" forms in a hat and draw 4 names to go with us to Kaleidoscope.   I will draw names on the 27th and post on the blog.
*  The sign up for March parent volunteers is ready:

*  A big thank you to our leaders and helpers with the Valentine's party last Tuesday!  It was a lot of fun for everyone!!
*  Classroom supplies: we are in need of glue sticks.  If you are able and would like to help out - 2 per student should get us through the end of the year.  Thank you so much for helping us with this need!  :)
