This week in kindergarten:
* We are counting down the days of school. Did you know we have 14 school days left? I can't believe it! This year went so fast!
* I am sending home a Time Capsule project in folders today. The directions are included, however, here are a few extra tips. Your child will need a shoe box. Please wrap the box with plain paper and tape the label on the top. Your job is to write a letter and place it in a sealed envelope. (I did not include envelopes - if you need one just let me know) You can put the letter in the box when you return it to school. Also, have your child fill out the survey and place it in the box as well. We will complete a writing sample here at school for the box as well and add a picture or 2. I will seal the boxes and return them to you. They will remain sealed until your child turns 18 years old. Trust me when I tell you the time between now and then will fly by. I have a daughter who will be a senior next year and I feel like I just blinked!
Let me know if you have any questions!
* We will begin a study of plants and plant life cycles this week.
* We will continue with Topic 9 in math (composing and decomposing numbers to 10).
* Our last day with Natalie (our high school helper) is Friday. We have made cards for her and will have a celebration snack to congratulate her on graduating from Mill Valley next week!
* I am preparing summer packets for you to use with your students over the break. Look for these to come home on May 16th.
