* We will learn Habit 4: Think Win-Win

* We will learn about informational text (non-fiction) as we read about apples. We will also begin work on rhyming words.
Wednesday is Green Day. Have your child wear green if they have it.
We will begin the next component of Daily 5 - Read to Someone. We will learn how to sit EEKK (elbow, elbow, knee, knee) and take turns reading with a friend.
* In math we will continue with Topic 2. We continue to work on the concept of more than and fewer. This is a tricky concept. You can work on this at home by making rows of stuffed animals, books, crayons etc. They are getting good with which row has more and fewer. It's when we say 1 more or 2 more (1 fewer or 2 fewer) that it gets confusing. They are hanging in there and pushing through!
* On Friday we will get to meet our 4th grade buddies. We will buddy up with Mrs. Kremer's class and meet once a month for fun activities. They will keep the same buddy all year.
* We will also have a guidance lesson on Friday with Mrs. Crabtree.
* I am looking for someone to send in class snacks for this Friday, 9/16 (letter O snack) and next Tuesday, 9/20 (letter Q snack). Let me know if you would like to sign up. I can give suggestions for what to send. O would be easy - oval Ritz crackers. Q could be Quaker Oats rice snacks.
* It appears we have a very high energy, hands on class this year. :) We have really struggled the first few weeks of school with keeping our hands to ourselves and listening when the teacher is talking. Usually it takes a couple of weeks to get acclimated and comfortable with the expectations. I would love if you would continue to have conversations with your children about the classroom rules and why they are important. I know if you are reinforcing and reminding at home combined with the frequent reminders at school we will eventually "get it!!" Thank you so much for your support and help from home! :)
