This week in kindergarten:
* We begin a new theme in our reading program - Does it Go Fast or Slow.
* Our letter focus is the soft sound for Gg. Our sight words are do & big. Our vocab words are move, distance & speed. Our comprehension strategy is synthesizing (putting small ideas together to make one big new idea).
* In math we will work on patterning, comparing objects by weight, & naming a shape piece using attributes.
* A class from the high school will be with us this week to present a lesson. This is always fun for the big kids and the little kids!
* We will meet with our 4th grade buddies on Friday.
* All change collected this week will go to Dr. Wimmer's Care Fund which helps needy families within our district.
* The last Scholastic book order for the year is coming home today. We will have the order before holiday break. If you order and you do not wish for the books to come home with your child (if they are gifts) just send me a message and I will hold them back for you to come and pick up. The orders are due next Monday, 12/6. You can order by going to the following link:

* Please have your child remember to bring a coat to school. We go outside unless the temperature drops below 20. Practice zipping and buttoning!! :)
