This week in kindergarten:
* Today the students came in to find new table seats, new carpet spots and new partners. This was very exciting! I also did some rearranging on Friday - so the room looked a little different as well.
* We continue with our theme in reading: What Animals Need. Our letter focus is Pp. Our vocab words are shelter, gather & carry. Our sight words are said & my.
In handwriting we will practice lower case x, y, z.
Tomorrow is PINK day. Plan to wear pink if you have it. :) I told the boys - if they don't have anything pink to wear - no biggie! We will learn to read and spell the color word pink.
Look for a new rubric in the journals coming home this week!
* In math we will continue with Topic 4. We are comparing and ordering numbers to 10 using a 10 frame.
* This Friday we will have a guidance lesson with our school counselor, Ms. Brown.
* Next Wednesday we will have our Fall Parties. We will have a costume parade followed by a classroom party. You may send your child's Halloween costume with them to school in a bag clearly labeled with their name. We will change into costumes right before the parade. AM class - parade is at 10:45 followed by the party at 11:00. PM class - parade is at 2:45 followed by the party at 3:00. Please see the school newsletter for guidelines regarding costumes and classroom parties.
* Next week in Red Ribbon Week! Check out the PRE school newsletter for more info!
* We are finished with the toilet paper tubes. Thank you so much for sending them in. I appreciate all of your help with extra supplies! :)
