This week in kindergarten:
* We have a new school wide reading program that begins today! I am sending home reading logs in folders. I will also email an attachment of the form so that you are able to print out extras to use over the holiday break.
* During our whole group reading time this week we will be reading many versions of the Gingerbread Man. We will compare and contrast the stories (characters, refrain and title). We will celebrate on Wednesday with Gingerbread Cookies!
* Wednesday will be Pajama Day for kindergarten. Wear your jammies! Slippers are fine too - just bring tennis shoes for PE and/or recess.
* There is no homework this week. Relax and just enjoy reading with your children as you work on the new reading log!
* Our classroom winter parties will be this Thursday. AM class is from 11-11:30 and PM class is from 3-3:30.
* It has come to my attention that I have had at least one email that was sent to me that I did not receive. Sometimes our email acts up! :) Please know that if you email me - I will always reply within 24 hours. If you do not hear back from me - please try again or feel free to call.
* There is no school this Friday - winter break begins. Enjoy this time with your kiddos and family! I know we are all holding on to our kids a little bit tighter right now after Friday's tragedy. Please know that we had a wonderful and very normal day today. Your children were happy and feel safe and secure and hopefully well cared for. Let me know if I can help in any way!
