It sounds like all of the kiddos had fun playing in the snow last week! Looks like there is a good chance for more snow days this week. Here is the plan for the week so far:
* We played catch up today (from last week).
* We will begin our next theme tomorrow (or Wed....or Thurs...). :)
Theme 11 is "Greet the Seasons." Our comprehension strategy is "making predictions." Our vocab words are frost, wind & season. Our sight words are many & baby. We will focus on the vowel Ii this week and next.
* In math we were able to begin Topic 6 - Numbers to 100!
Math homework this week is working on place value. Please have your child count the penguins on the 10 frames and write the number below. Emphasize place value. For example: 14 is 1 group of 10 and 4 more. On the back of this page they can show 12 and 18 by coloring boxes in. Let me know if you have any questions!
* This week we will meet with our 4th grade buddies. To Celebrate "Read Across America Day" and Dr. Seuss Day - we will be reading Dr. Seuss books with our buddies. If you have a few Dr. Seuss books at home - please send them with your child this week. Make sure to put your name in your book(s). We will use these during our 4th grade buddy time. The AM class will meet with their buddies on Friday (please send your books on this day). The PM class will meet with their buddies on Thursday (send your books on this day).
* We will meet with Ms. Brown on Friday for our guidance lesson that we missed last week!
* Be safe and stay warm!!
