Weekly Update 3/23

I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break!  I know I did.  We celebrated my daughter's 16th birthday!  It seems like just yesterday she was in kindergarten and now she's driving!

I also did a lot of reading over spring break.  I love to read!  I am currently reading The Essential 55 by Ron Clark.  This is a book about essential manners in the classroom and life.  So.....we will be talking about manners quite a bit over the next several weeks!

This week in kindergarten:
*  We will review all of our sight words, use decoding strategies during whole group and work on "opinion writing."
*  In math we will begin Topic 13 - Sorting, Classifying and Categorizing Data.
*  We have new table seats, new carpet seats and new partners in class. 
*  Reminder:  Yearbook orders are now due.  We will hand out yearbooks on the last day of school and the students will have an opportunity to sign the books.
*  Report cards will be posted this Friday.
*  Needed: we are running low on classroom snacks.  (We still have goldfish crackers)  Any donations are appreciated!  Thank you!
