* We are learning the second component of Daily 5: Read to Someone. We know the rules for reading with a partner:

* Tomorrow we will celebrate BLUE day. If you have something blue - wear it tomorrow! Maybe your favorite Royals shirt!
* We will focus on Habit 3 from the Seven Habits of Happy Kids.
Put First Things First!
Set priorities and do the most important thing first.
Be organized. Have a plan and follow it.
* In math we will begin Topic 2: Comparing and Ordering Numbers. We will learn new vocabulary like more than, less than, one more and one less.
* We will begin to check out library books every week on the D days. Please make sure your child returns their book by the D day on your calendar schedule.
* This Friday we will have our PTO sponsored Lap-A-Thon at school. Our class will walk/run the bus loop from 9-9:30. You are welcome to join us out at the bus loop at 9:00! Please make sure your children are wearing tennis shoes on Friday. All packets and donations should be turned in by Friday.
* We will also meet our 4th grade buddies on Friday. We partner up with Mrs. Mulvihill's 4th grade class once a month. Each kindergartener is matched up with a 4th grader. They work on projects together, read together and sometimes play outside together. This is a super fun activity that the kindergarteners look forward to every month!!
* Please sign up for the PTO school directory by September 15th.
* You might have noticed that we are marking on our calendars that are on the back of our daily folders. The color they mark their day with is the color they ended the day on with our clip chart. Please see the Kindergarten Parent Handbook for a more in depth description of our behavior clip chart.
* We practice our classroom rules every day with our special helper of the day!
