* We will focus on vowels and the sounds they make. We will talk about simple CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant) and listen for the beginning, middle and ending sound in those words. For example: in the word cat we hear c /a / t.
We will also learn about nouns and talk about words that show a person, place or thing.
We have been practicing our "college talk" using the "because clapper." We practiced today using the sentence "I like fall because....." Have your child demonstrate this at home. Make sure they show the gesture for a capital letter and end mark.
We will be changing our color day for this week due to Spirit Day on Wednesday. Students should wear their PTO purchased yellow PRE shirts on Wednesday. Our color word this week is orange. If your child has something orange to wear - send it on Friday!
We started using the I-Pads today for the 5th part of Daily 5: Listen to Reading. We will be going over expectations and rules for the I-Pad all week. I have headphones for the students to use, however, if they would like to bring their own - please feel free to send them in. Make sure to label them with your child's name.
* In math we will finish Topic 3 - Writing numbers 6-10.
* Tomorrow (Tuesday) is picture day. Our class will be taking school pictures at the beginning of our school day.
* We are learning about Habit 6: Synergize. I value others strengths and learn from them, I get along with others even if they are different than me, I work well in groups, I am humble.
