Weekly Update

This week in kindergarten:
*  We will focus on the letter and sound for X /ks/.   Our vocab words are size, person, weight.  Our sight words are mother & him.
*  In math we will work on paying for items using pennies, nickels, dimes & quarters, identifying and matching equivalent sets, and identifying doubles (using dominoes).
* Last week we had a final lesson from the high school class that visits us twice a year.  Both classes had a great time with their high school friends!
*  We have one last hurrah with our 4th grade buddies.  The AM class had some outside time with their buddies on Friday.  The PM class will have their time tomorrow!
*  All library books and small reading group books are due now - ASAP.  Thank you so much for helping your kiddos find these books and return them to school.
*  A kindergarten celebration is being planned for Wednesday evening, May 25th.  Watch for more details soon!
*  Information on the summer reading program is coming home in Monday folders today.  Plan to participate this summer!!  I encourage all kindergartners to read for a minimum of 15 minutes every day this summer!
*  THANK YOU!!  THANK YOU!!  What a wonderful week I had last week.  I love all of the notes of appreciation that are on display in our school hallway.  The yummy treats that came in on Wednesday were a hit for my whole family!!  2 pineapples were devoured before the weekend was over!  The breakfast and snacks provided by the PTA were amazing!!  I am so grateful and appreciate everything!  I have the best job in the world and I love working with your children!
