This week in kindergarten:
* The book fair is here! Feel free to bring your kiddos before or after school to check out the Scholastic Book Fair that is set up in the cafeteria on the stage. More information is coming home in folders today!
* The Shawnee firetrucks will be here tomorrow. We will have a chance to see the trucks up close and watch a short presentation on fire safety.
* There is no school this Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Parent - teacher conferences are all day Wed and Thurs.
* There is no homework this week since it is such a short week.
* As the weather is starting to get cooler - please keep in mind that we go outside for recess for a full 15 minutes. The wind seems to be very strong up here on this hill at recess time. Please make sure your kiddos are bringing a jacket/coat to stay warm during this time. We will continue to go outside for recess as long as the wind chill is above 20.
* I am up to 41 frosting containers. I plan to let the kiddos decorate them next week and bring them home. They may begin collecting change for Harvesters. There is no set day when they need to return these to school. It is completely voluntary and they can choose to bring them back periodically whenever they want. They will dump the change into a large jar in our classroom. I will take the money to the bank to be counted about every 2 months or so. We will graph our progress to see how we are doing on our commitment to helping those in KC fight hunger.
We will decorate the coin collectors with stickers. Any donations are appreciated. Thank you so much!!
* I look forward to seeing you during conferences this week!! :)
