Weekly Update 11/21

This week in kindergarten:
*  We will learn about the first Thanksgiving.  We will read books, do Thanksgiving writing and celebrate with our feast on Tuesday.
Today we learned 2 big words: tradition and history.

Thank you for sending in your assigned items for our feast tomorrow!  Please make sure they are ready to eat.  (ex: cucumbers are sliced and in a bowl, mandarin oranges are out of the can, grapes are washed and in a bowl etc)  Make sure to label any serving dishes so I can return them to you.
Our kindergarten feast is very low key and for the students only.  We are in need of a couple more volunteers for set up, serving and clean up.  Let me know if you can help.  Volunteers should be here by 2:30.  We will have our feast at 3:00.

*  There is no school this Wednesday - Friday due to Thanksgiving break.  I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and extra time with family and friends!

*  Next week we will begin a 2 week unit: Celebrations Around the World.  We will learn about 10 different countries, find them on the map, learn about their culture & the holidays they celebrate and make a craft.  I am hoping to also sample a snack that is authentic from each country.  I have created a Sign Up Genius for snack volunteers.  If you are able to help - you can google ideas for the snack or I can send you ideas from the past couple of years.  The link for the sign up is below:
